Christian Fuchs has left Newport County after just seven months as manager


Christian Fuchs has resigned as manager of Newport County after just seven months in charge of the League Two club.

The former Austria defender replaced the sacked David Hughes last November.

Leicester’s Premier League winner Fuchs resigned just eight weeks after helping the county Avoid relegation from the Football League On the last day of the season.

However, the 40-year-old left County to hunt for their fourth boss in just two years on the eve of pre-season.

“Newport County can confirm Christian Fuchs has decided to step down from his role as manager,” the club said in a statement.
