Chloe Kelly: What about the Arsenal and England striker?

Kelly made a fast start for Arsenal in the second half of the 2024–25 season, scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists to help the club win their second Women’s Champions League title.

He then played a major role in England’s European Championship that summer, including scoring the trophy-winning penalty against Spain.

Last season, however, was not very successful. Hampered by injury, she has made just four starts in the Women’s Super League – so will be itching to get going in the new campaign, which kicks off on Friday 4 September.

“I had big goals in my first season at Arsenal and I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t do it,” she said.

“I think this winter I need to work on myself physically, work in the gym, work on the field and get some time off.

“I’m in a great place right now. My main goal is to stay healthy all season and be ready when called upon.”

And with next summer’s World Cup in Brazil taking England into the knockout stages this autumn, Kelly is focusing on the short term.

“My goals and my partners are very important so I make sure I’m on track,” she added. “For me, I think about (the World Cup) closer to the time.”
