China: Debris fell after the plane hit the tallest building in Beijing

Video shows the moment the wreckage of a small plane falls to the ground after crashing into Beijing’s tallest skyscraper.

Eyewitnesses told Reuters news agency that a plane the size of a car crashed into the CIT Tower, or Chinatown, on Friday.

Social media images taken from a nearby building show what appears to be a small plane on the ground. Firefighters were also seen putting out the fire at the tower.

CITIC Tower is a 108-story skyscraper in Beijing’s central business district and is the headquarters of the state-owned CITIC Group, one of China’s largest.

There are no known casualties and there is no statement from the authorities about the incident.
