Britain’s Charlie Guest will make his ONE Championship debut against Sam Fitzgerald on June 27, live on Sky Sports.
An ISKA World Champion, WBC European and British Kickboxing Champion, Guest was originally due to fight in Bampara Kuwait at One Fight Night 44, live on Sky Sports Early on June 27.
With Kuwait forced to withdraw, Fitzgerald, a WBC New Zealand super-welterweight champion, will step in to take on the new British star at ONE.
Standing at 6ft, Andover native Guest possesses a highly technical and powerful stand-up arsenal that has already earned him major headlines across Europe.
On June 27, Guest will begin his quest for a world title and become the next Englishman to capture 26lb gold.
“This is something I’ve worked for my whole life, and I truly believe this is just the beginning. I can’t wait to show the world exactly what I’m capable of. Dreams come true,” Guest said.
“A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey, my team, training partners, coaches, sponsors, friends and family. I am grateful for every bit of support along the way.
“June 27, time to show the world, I’m coming for it. Let’s go.”
In the main event of the show, Britain’s George Jarvis will rematch Thai maestro Rungrawi Sitsongpinong.
Jarvis knocked out Sitsongpinong to earn a life-changing contract and the coveted roster spot along with ONE championship. Both men would later go on to challenge for the ONE World Title belt, but each fighter failed in their first attempt.
Now, almost two years later, fate has brought these stars together again, and a victory at the historic Lumpini Stadium could once again change their lives drastically.
For Jarvis, it’s a chance to beat his Thai rival again and get a second shot at ONE world title gold.
