Celtic v Hearts title not abandoned after pitch invasion – SPFL

The SPFL ensured Celtic’s title-winning victory over Hearts on Saturday did not come to a premature end, condemning the pitch invasion on an exciting and chaotic afternoon.

Callum Osmand made it 3-1 in the 98th minute and the fans left the stands at Celtic Park.

An eight-minute stoppage was announced at the end of regulation 90 after play resumed.

Hearts started the day a point ahead and were led by Lawrence Shankland.

After the break, Celtic equalized through Arne Engels’ free-kick, and Daisen Mada scored a save in the 87th minute.

In the year Hearts, who have been chasing their first title since 1960, decided to leave the stadium in a hurry, citing the “dangerous and threatening atmosphere”.
