Celtic: Martin O’Neill says it’s pointless to call pitch attacks embarrassing

Osmande’s goal came in the 98th minute, with eight minutes of stoppage-time signaled at the end of the period.

“The reality is that when we scored the third goal, the game was basically over, with about eight seconds left, or whatever,” added O’Neill.

“The referee claimed he had blown the final whistle. And then there was obvious excitement, we scored to win the league.”

When talkSPORT host Jim White repeated that fans shouldn’t have come onto the pitch, O’Neill replied: “Well, start telling every single football club that.

“I assumed we put the ball in the net for the third goal as the final whistle blew. It’s a home game and we’ve just won the league, and the fans are on the pitch, OK? OK, so they should keep it?”

The Premiership organizers are awaiting a report from the SPFL match representative to consider action.

Police said two officers were seriously injured after a disturbance in Glasgow city center on Saturday, which led to 14 arrests.
