Celtic: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has signed a new one-year deal

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s partner, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, has gone public on social media about his desire to stay with Celtic and Scotland, and the player himself expressed his delight at his new deal on the club’s website.

“It was an incredible time last season and to be part of that success to win the league and the Scottish Cup was very special,” he said.

“I’m really excited to be back and I’m looking forward to meeting the boys and working on what will hopefully be another successful season.”

O’Neill’s squad travel to Ireland this weekend before their first pre-season match against Shelbourne on Tuesday.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, capped 35 times and who has played for Southampton, Arsenal and Liverpool, will then join their training camp in Portugal.

Celtic are yet to make any new signings this summer.
