Real Madrid got a valuable win over the host Espanyol
Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas has commented on his team’s avoidance of an honorable mention against Barcelona in El Clasico next Sunday.
Brazilian Vinicius Junior led Real Madrid to a valuable brace against Espanyol in their La Liga tie yesterday.
Vinicius scored a double for Real in the 55th and 66th minutes with great technical skill.
With this victory, Real Madrid escaped the possibility of an honorable transfer to Barcelona, who would have won the title if the Royal team had faltered yesterday.
In turn, Iker Casillas posted on his X account a news item from the newspaper Mundo Deportivo: Three honorary passes between Barcelona and Real Madrid, two from Barcelona and one from Real Madrid, about the various honorary passes that Real Madrid and Barcelona had to give to their eternal rival.
The Catalan newspaper notes that “In recent decades, as well as previous title wins, there have been three honors between Barcelona and Real Madrid: two from the Blaugrana to the Blancos and one from the Blancos to the Blaugrana.”
“We continue to improve, even in this (although it’s a negative),” commented Casillas, noting that the team will not make an honor pass and thus become No. 2 for each side.
