The Court of Arbitration for Sport reacts to the latest news

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has put an end to many rumors that have been circulating on social networks for several days regarding the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final in Morocco.

According to the network“Foot Mercato“The French newspaper, citing the Senegalese TV channel RTS, said in an official statement that the court denied making any ruling in favor of Senegal in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco, stressing that the procedures are still ongoing and no verdict has yet been reached.

This clarification ends the false claims and misinformation spread over the weekendwhich suggested a final decision in favor of Senegal.

In its statement, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) urges the public not to rely on unofficial documents circulating online and stresses that the case is still under consideration before a decision is issued as planned.

In recent days, there have been reports that the Court of Arbitration for Sport has recognized the right of the Senegalese national team to win the 2025 African Nations title at the expense of Morocco, before this matter was completely rejected.

Senegal defeated Morocco (1-0) in the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations last January, but the Confederation of African Football (CAF) returned two months later and stripped the title from Senegal and awarded it to Morocco after the Teranga Lions players were withdrawn minutes after a penalty.

The Senegalese federation has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport to reinstate the title, but it has yet to be officially decided.
