Information obtained after law enforcement says that the person suspected of having come to Quebec has lost his peace.

A shooting in Montreal left three people dead, including a police officer, a resident, and the assailant, police in the Canadian city said. Police say the situation is still ongoing.

Little has been known about the incident that took place on Monday.

“Two police officers and one citizen were injured,” police said in a press release, which did not say whether there was more than one suspect. “Police operations are still underway, please continue to avoid this area.”

Montreal police said an officer had died in the line of duty, without providing further details. AFP reported that the attack killed a police officer, a civilian and a suspected attacker.

No motive for his suspicions has been revealed so far.

Police earlier warned of an armed and dangerous man in the Cote-des-Neiges area and urged people to stay indoors.

A change in the situation is expected in the next hour.
