Foreign ministers of China and Iran have met as a ceasefire is in place.
China is emerging as a major player in international negotiations – including in the Middle East.
In 2023, it helped re-establish diplomatic relations between Riyadh and Tehran.
Although it is not an official call to end the ongoing war – the United States and Iran are looking to China to help spread it.
So, can it promote two sides to that goal?
And if China makes a direct move to stop fighting, how will its economic power affect negotiations?
