Camilo Duran: Celtic have completed a five-year deal for the Colombian forward

Celtic have confirmed the signing of Camilo Duran from Qarabag on a five-year deal.

The 24-year-old Colombian forward arrived from the Azerbaijan Premier League runners-up for an undisclosed fee.

Last season he scored 15 goals and provided 10 assists, five of which came in 10 Champions League appearances.

“It was a dream to play in the Champions League,” the Scottish champions’ first new signing of the summer told the club’s media.

“That’s what you dream about when you’re young, so to score was amazing and that’s what I want to continue here, to score in the Champions League.

“I’ve given my all in every game, with a lot of effort and dedication, and hopefully the goals will come.

“It’s an honor to be the first Colombian to play for Celtic. It’s been my dream since childhood (to play for my country) and I hope to be here at Celtic and do well, then one day it will come true.”

Duran joined Qarabag from Portuguese second tier side Portimonense last summer.

Now he is back in Portugal at Celtic’s training camp.

“When I first heard of the interest there was no doubt in my mind and I’m excited to play with the boys,” he added.

“I told the manager how happy I am to be here and I hope to repay him with my performance.”
