BYD to install thousands of 5-minute EV chargers across Europe

Chinese EV colossus BYD has announced plans to accelerate its takeover of the European car market by rolling out the world’s fastest Flash Chargers. BYD has already launched the new chargers in Germany and the UK, and plans to roll out 3,000 in Europe by the end of next year.

At a price of €580,000 (about $670,000) per charger according to Financial Timeswhich would mean spending about $2 billion to set up the network. The 1,500kW generator is more powerful than Tesla has a 500kW V4 Superchargereven Tesla already has 20,000 chargers installed in Europe.
