Verstappen said the specific failures of the two incidents were not the same.
“Different blame but same result,” he said. “When turning in, the rear wing doesn’t fully engage and you lose a lot of downforce and just spin off.”
The Dutchman, who finished second in Austria but was unhappy with the car at the Silverstone weekend, also expressed his displeasure with Red Bull’s performance this season.
He is seventh in the championship, 103 points behind Mercedes leader Kimi Antonelli after nine races. He retired from the trio due to car problems.
“With what happened again this weekend I would be a very zen person at the moment to be optimistic,” Verstappen said.
“I’m sorry, but that’s just the way it is. I mean, I need a few days, I think, to reset and try again.
“Everybody’s doing the best they can. I’m not blaming one person or whatever. It’s painful for everybody, you know it happened.
“I want to finish the race first. That would be nice. A lot of things go wrong at this point. It’s as simple as that. Not even talking about speed.”
Red Bull team principal Laurent Mackies said: “He’s right not to be happy. It’s unpleasant to have drivers out of the car at high-speed corners in two races in a row, let alone for two different reasons.
“And it’s very unpleasant for us as a group to send our drivers to gravel traps, on a much smaller scale.
“I have no doubt that as a team we will do what is necessary to prevent this from happening again, even if we failed to do so today.
“And we take it as seriously as we can, and so today the maximum that can achieve the minimum is unsatisfied.”
