British Grand Prix: Kimi Antonelli beats Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton to pole at Silverstone


Mercedes’ Kim Antonelli beat Ferrari and team-mate George Russell to take pole position for the British Grand Prix with another impressive performance.

The Italian, who won the race at Silverstone on Saturday, beat Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc by 0.175 seconds.

Lewis Hamilton was third in the second Ferrari of George Russell, 0.370 seconds behind his 19-year-old team-mate.

Issac Hadjar took fifth to beat team-mate Max Verstappen for only the second time all year to complete qualifying, while the Dutchman was separated from the Frenchman by McLaren’s Lando Norris.

McLaren’s Oscar Piastri completed the top 10, leading the Racing Bulls of British rookie Arvid Linblad and Liam Lawson.
