Formula 1 heads to Silverstone for the sprint weekend at the British Grand Prix, which will be live and free on Sky.
George Russell claimed a crucial win in Austria last time out to cut his deficit to Kimi Antonelli to 40 points in the drivers’ championship and will be looking for a first win on home soil.
Lewis Hamilton is a nine-time British Grand Prix winner and will be hoping to revive his mid-season title hopes after a disappointing race for Ferrari last Sunday.
Lando Norris won last year’s race at Silverstone but will face a challenge for McLaren to repeat his victory this weekend, while the other two Britons on the grid – Haas’ Oliver Biermann and Racing Bulls’ Arvid Lindblad – will target the points-paying positions.
Don’t be surprised to see Max Verstappen spoil the British team, while championship leader Antonelli still goes into the event as favorite due to his recent top pace, even if he doesn’t win the last two races.
For the first time since 2021, Silverstone will host a sprint weekend so there will be competitive action from Friday and we will have the traditional Thursday evening build-up show live from the grid.
You can watch everything unfold Live at Silverstone Weekend Sky Sports F1 And all the F1 on-track action is free on Sky OneIf you have a Sky Box.
Silverstone is one of the most iconic Formula 1 circuits on the calendar with much history and memorable moments, having hosted the first F1 World Championship race in 1950.
The 3.661-mile track offers plenty of overtaking opportunities through The Loop at the start of the lap, then through the high-speed middle sector that leads to Hangar Straight where drivers head towards Stowe at speeds in excess of 200mph.
Current weather forecasts call for no rain across the three days of track action at the British Grand Prix, with temperatures in the mid-20s from Friday to Sunday.
