Brazil and Scotland meet for the fifth time at the World Cup on Wednesday as both sides look to secure their place in the finals.
Brazil top Group C with four points and will reach the round of 32 as group winners if they win or draw against Scotland and Morocco fail to beat Haiti.
Scotland are aiming to reach the final stages of a major international competition for the first time and are guaranteed a top three finish in the group.

Neymar returns to Brazil to return
The 34-year-old is available for the group’s final group game in Brazil, but coach Carlo Ancelotti refused to say whether he would play at the Miami Stadium.
Neymar was a lot of memory to the national team even though he was not part of Ancelotti’s plans during the Italian season, but he is still under scrutiny for his condition and form after years of injury and disappointment at Santos.
The player last played for Brazil in 2023 when he injured his knee against Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier.
After missing the Group C games against Morocco and Haiti, Neymar resumed full training last week. On Monday, he took part in his first technical training session with the team under Ancelotti.
“Neymar is here,” Ancelotti told reporters on Tuesday. “He worked this week and he can be present for the game, we are happy that he has come because, obviously, with his skills, he can help the team.
“I know him very well, and he’s been working hard, trying to get well soon.”
Scotland wants to make sporting history
After numerous failed attempts, Scotland are looking to escape the group stage of a major international tournament for the first time.
Steve Clarke’s men sit on three points after that to conquer Haiti in their opening match of the group. They have now finished at least third in their group but need a point to confirm their qualification.
If not, Scotland face a nervous wait to see if they can be one of the eight third-best teams in the tournament, who progress alongside the first and second-placed teams in the 12 groups.
“Scottish teams haven’t been able to get past the group stage, so if we can be the first team to do that, that would be really special,” Clarke told reporters on Tuesday.

They will now travel to Miami for a warm-up against Brazil, and Scotland captain Andrew Robertson will be hoping to give them something to cheer about.
“We want to give them something to shout about. We want to give them something to cheer about, and obviously, if we win this game, then we’ve made history,” he told reporters.
Unexpected competition
Scotland and Brazil may not seem like the biggest contenders, but Wednesday’s game will be their fifth World Cup appearance.
They met for the first time in 1974, playing goalless football in West Germany.
Since then, Brazil has won all of their World Cup matches, winning in 1982, 1990 and 1998.
Scotland have never beaten South American opposition at the World Cup, losing six games and drawing twice against continental teams.
Scotland vs Brazil Prediction
Statistics provider Opta has predicted that Brazil have a 68.1 percent chance of winning in Miami on Wednesday.
Their supercomputers saw a 19% draw chance and gave Scotland a 12.9% chance of winning.
Opta reckons Brazil is the eighth team to win the tournament.
