Boox is taking on the Xteink with its small e-reader

Boox’s new Tile line will take on the popular Xteink e-readers that are small enough sticks to the back of the iPhone and MagSafe. As we have seen A good E-Readerthe first is the Picco, which will have a 3.97-inch front, black and white e-paper and additional storage and an SD card slot. Boox has been confirmed that Seaside that Picco is working, I note that it is part of the new Tile series and will have an “accessible price,” but without details of its plans, such as specifications, actual price, or release date.

The front-facing display can be installed like the new Xteink $99 X4 Pro e-readerwho SeasideAndrew Liszewski calls it “the best little e-reader you can buy.” However, one of the attractions of the small Xteink readers is their ability to stick to the back of the phone, and it is not known if Boox Picco will have the same feature.

It looks like it has buttons in the promo image, but it’s not clear if it just depends on the buttons, like Original Xteink X4or including the screen. According to A good E-ReaderPicco can have a minimalistic UI, with tiles for basic apps like Neoreader, music player, and podcast player, putting it in a very different category from Android-powered ones.
