Body-worn video shows Henry Nowak’s killer repeatedly lying to police

The male officer spoke to Digawa again: “This is very important. Okay, now it’s 11.55.”

“I’m tired,” Digwa complained.

Officer: “Okay, important mate, okay, this time, I’m arresting you on suspicion of attempted murder, okay?”

Diego: “What?”

Officer: “You don’t have to say anything, but if you don’t mention it when asked, it can hurt your defense. You can rely on it in court later.”

Diego“What do you mean attempted murder? Why are you being arrested?”

Officer“Anything you say can be substantiated.

“You got your side of the story mate. We don’t know what happened here, okay? So we have to find out. Okay?”

As the video nears its end, they continue to try to revive Henry, who eventually dies on 4 December 2025 at 00:37 GMT.

The video ends before Digwa is put into a police van, but Hampshire police confirmed in an interview with the BBC that he was “never handcuffed”, the first public disclosure by Nowak’s family since the verdict.

“He was never handcuffed and Vikrum Diga himself told the court that when he was arrested for Henry’s murder, the police took him to the kitchen to pick his food,” Mark Nowak said in a statement.

“The contradiction is unbearable.”
