The Ecuadorian defender stood out for Bayer Leverkusen as he was a key member of the team that won the German league title (2023-2024).

Hincapie is currently with Ecuador’s national team at the 2026 World Cup, where his team plays in Group E with Germany, Curaçao and Ivory Coast.

Previous reports had suggested Barcelona’s interest in Hincapie and the possibility of a move for him as part of the Catalan club’s efforts to strengthen their defence, but the initiative was in the hands of Arsenal, who ultimately decided to activate the purchase option.
