"Big discounts".. Neymar accepts Ancelotti’s tough terms to return to Brazil’s roster

The Brazilian federation also set its own terms

Today, Tuesday, the press release revealed what conditions Santos star Neymar has agreed to return to the Brazil national team roster.

Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti has already invited Neymar to the 2026 World Cup in the US, Canada and Mexico, as this is expected to be the final appearance for the Santos star.

Although the news has pleased many Brazil fans, Ancelotti has come under some criticism, particularly as Neymar has had a difficult season with Santos and has not selected other players such as Joao Pedro (Chelsea).

“We have followed Neymar’s development throughout the year and we have seen him take part in matches and improve in terms of his fitness. He will be an important player during this World Cup and will have the same obligations as the other 25 players.”

As reported by the Brazilian newspaper Globo, Neymar had to accept certain conditions to return to the main team.

During the meeting Neymar with Carlo AncelottiSeveral conditions were set for the “Santos” player, the first of which was not to be in the starting lineup. The Italian coach hinted during his media speech that Neymar will not receive special treatment, explaining that everyone will have a chance to play in the starting lineup and that everyone is equal.

But in his private interview about Neymar, he was more honest, telling the player that he had already chosen his preferred starting line-up, which he was not in.

Ancelotti has also assured Neymar that he will not be named captain despite his experience and the esteem his teammates have for him.

Neymar has been forced to accept his status as a reserve, which means leaving him out of the starting line-up with the threat of not being called up.

The matter was not limited to that, as the Brazilian Football Confederation and the technical staff of the Brazilian national team asked him to be careful off the field.

Some undisclosed disciplinary measures were imposed on him and he was also asked to reduce his social media activity during the tournament.

The Santos star has agreed to these instructions, stressing that he will not mind sticking to these new rules as he is ready to do anything to take part in his last World Cup with his country’s national team.
