A Spanish publication has revealed Barcelona coach Hans Flick’s plan to solve the right-back crisis next season.
In the preparation period of the new season starting on July 13, Barcelona may have a right-back position, and if an offer is not received and the player wants to leave, Jules Kunde will remain in the team, which excludes the possibility of signing a new player.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca coach Hans Flick has other options such as Eric Garcia and Araujo in addition to the possibility of signing Joao Cancelo on a permanent deal, in addition to two young players, Xavi Espart and Hector Forte, as both will be involved in the pre-season if there is no change in their minds.
The German coach may be faced with a difficult decision between Xavi Espart and Hector Forte, two players with different characteristics and who offer opposing solutions for the same position.
On the one hand, Hector Forte has previous first team experience and has shown composure in difficult situations. The club’s academy graduate, who is under contract until 2029, showed good understanding and tactical discipline during his time with Elche last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
On the other hand, Xavi Espar represents a promising alternative. Flick had earlier praised the player’s composure and poise with the ball, saying:
More so when injuries forced the defensive line Barcelona Looking for alternatives, Flick publicly stated that Espart was an “excellent option”.
He explained that he followed the development of “Spart”, he recovered well from the injury and offers solutions to the team in this difficult period.
Flick believes Ispar can bring a fresh perspective on the right.
The challenge facing Flick is finding the right player. While Fort offers greater security and a broader competitive experience, ESpart can add an extra element of flexibility and dynamism. The choice will depend not only on individual talent, but also on the needs of the team.
Eric Garcia could be a strong contender and a surprise pick for Flick as he wows everyone with his performance when given the chance. Admittedly, he wasn’t as impressed as Araujo, who rarely played him despite previously playing at right-back alongside Joao Cancelo, his natural position.
