There are many of toys in my house, most of which I (affectionately) refer to as junk. But one of the coolest toys I have for my four year old is Yoto easily.

The Yoto reminds me of a Walkman, but like the Walkman was nice and big and used sound cards instead of CDs, and had a built-in speaker if you didn’t want to use headphones. It makes a great screen-free way for kids to listen to age-appropriate content, and you can make your own card like you would a mixtape in the afternoon. It’s a great device and it works well, whether it’s just entertaining your child on a long drive or coming on a plane ride with the family, and both types – great. All these tools are good. It is similar in some ways to popular Sink Box (which is also for sale), but I hate how you have to hit Tonie to change the song or story. It’s like if I try to break it, it won’t start. Yoto is easy to change the music or volume and control the singing.

There are tons of cards you can buy with songs and sounds for kids of all ages to enjoy. My son loves his Simple Songs and Moana cards, but you can find the content on anything (or make your own with the customizable cards). I recommend hiding some of the tools for sale, too. There are cases and jackets of all kinds, and you can also get cases to hold cards, which is a big help; I always find cards that I thought I lost at home.
