Real Madrid is nearing the end of its contract… Ivorian Yann Diomandy, Leipzig wingerAfter agreeing terms with the German club in a deal that could be worth around €120m, while PSG pulled out of the race to sign the player.

The Spanish “Mundo Deportivo” reports.Barcelona had previously inquired about Ian Diomande’s status a few months ago, but he later backed out of the deal.

Officials at the Catalan club took advantage of their good relationship with Leipzig after the Dani Olmo deal and contacted the German club’s management to inquire about the player’s position.

Leipzig confirmed at the time that they had no intention of selling the player under a new contract unless an exclusive offer was received.

The German club also valued the player at more than €100 million, a figure that Barcelona did not even consider discussing until developments exceeded all expectations and Real were prepared to pay a huge sum to complete the deal.

“Barcelona” held meetings with the football player’s representatives last April and May, when the striker had an excellent season in the German league, during which he scored 13 goals and made 10 assists in 36 games.

But after Barcelona realized Leipzig were holding on to the player, the Catalan club tried to keep Marcus Rashford going before finally settling on Anthony Gordon for €70m plus €10m in variables, a deal Hansi Flick would have preferred.

After Barcelona’s contacts, Diomandi’s name was also linked with Atletico Madrid, and at the end of the season, the winger received offers from the English Premier League and the French league.

“Paris Saint-Germain” also reached an agreement with the football player, but failed to complete the negotiations with “Leipzig”.
