1964: Wales XV 28-22 Fiji (Not Official Test)
Strictly speaking, it was not an official test. Wales fielded a Wales XV instead of being awarded a full international cap.
The score is almost beside the point.
A 1964 tour of Fiji took them across Wales before moving on to France and Canada. They played Bridgend, Glamorgan and Monmouth, Western Counties at Strady Park, Wales XV at Cardiff Arms Park and later Abertillery and Newbridge.
It was an era when touring teams spent weeks touring the country instead of flying in and out for single Tests.
The lasting memory came after the final whistle in Cardiff.
Players and supporters converged on the pitch at Arms Park, singing along in a scene that seems almost impossible to imagine today.
It is not remembered as one of the best matches between the countries. It is remembered because it captures some of what made rugby so special in that era and why Welsh fans fell in love with Fiji in the first place.
