BBC Alba will screen the Glasgow Commonwealth Games with live nightly coverage

Taking place from July 23 to August 2, 10 Games and six Para sports , outsider3×3 includes wheelchair basketball, swimming, artistic gymnastics, athletics, bowls, netball and track cycling.

More than 3,000 athletes from 74 countries are set to take part.

Glasgow last hosted the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

BBC Alba broadcasts programs in Gaelic including current affairs, children’s entertainment and drama.

It was seen at the beginning of this year A package of eight live Serie A football matches featuring Italy-based Scots As they prepare for this summer’s World Cup.

BBC Alba said it would provide Gaelic-language coverage of the opening to closing ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games.

Presenter Derek Murray will lead the commentary team.

Glasgow 2026 chief executive Phil Batty said BBC Alba was a “brilliant addition” to the Games.

He said: “These games are for everyone and this means ensuring that every community across Scotland can follow the action in a way that feels close to home.

“Bringing live coverage to audiences through the Gaelic language reflects everything we want this partnership to stand for – a game for everyone.”
