Young Egyptian striker Hamza Abdel Karim’s involvement with his country at the 2026 World Cup has attracted a lot of attention from FC Barcelona, who are closely monitoring the development of the 18-year-old’s talent.
Hamza Abdel Karim came on as a substitute in Egypt’s three group stage matches, the last of which was against Iran in the early hours of Saturday in the third round, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Barcelona’s official page on the “X” network published a picture of Hamza Abdel Karim with Pharaohs coach Hossam Hasan and wrote: “Egypt qualified for the next round after a draw (1-1) against Iran, Hamza Abdel Karim participated in the second half.
The young Egyptian joined the Catalan club on loan in the last winter transfer window to strengthen the youth squad and since his arrival has managed to attract attention in minutes in a Barca shirt, in addition to being called up to Egypt’s World Cup squad.
The player’s first six months at Barcelona have seen limited appearances in the team jersey due to various administrative and bureaucratic circumstances.
Despite joining in January, Hamza was unable to play until March, but was nevertheless a great addition to the youth team, making 11 appearances and scoring 8 goals.
Barcelona recently announced the conversion of Hamza Abdel Karim’s loan from Egyptian side Al-Ahly into a final purchase.
