“Barcelona” is working to prepare for the next season, because its ambition will not be limited to fighting for the league title, the Super Cup and the Copa del Rey, but the biggest challenge is to win the Champions League.
And for this “Barcelona” wants to sign new dealsAmong the players that the Catalan club was interested in was one of his sons, Moroccan Abdel Samad Zalzouli (24 years old), who currently plays for Real Betis, reports Mundo Deportivo newspaper.
The Moroccan international moved from Barcelona to Real Betis in September 2023 for €7.3 million, with Barcelona retaining the right to buy the player back, in addition to 50% of Betis’ future sale to a third party.
These terms were changed after Barcelona asked Betis to terminate Vitor Roque’s loan so that they could transfer him to Palmeiras in the 2025 winter transfer window, and Barcelona thereby waived an additional 30% of the player’s rights.
Since then, Zalzouli has seen tremendous development until becoming a key player in manager Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
The Morocco international has featured in 27 of Spain’s 36 league matches and has only been absent due to injury at the start of the season and an appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco earlier this year.
However, according to the Catalan newspaper, there is one obstacle preventing the player from leaving Real Betis at the moment, and that is Betis’ Champions League qualification for next season. This crucial factor prevents the player from leaving the club, whose contract runs until June 30, 2029 and includes a release clause of €60 million.
Apart from Barcelona’s interest, there are other teams such as Newcastle and Aston Villa who are also interested in the Moroccan star.
