Martin Schindler will begin his defense of the Elten Safety Shoes Austrian Darts Open against Peter Wright on Saturday.

The sixth European Tour event of 2026 sees players vying for the £35,000 top prize in Graz from May 8-10, with Dutch duo Gian van Veen and Michael van Gerwen also among the stars in action.

The top 16 players on the PDC Werner Rankings ladder will square off in the second round on Saturday as European champions Van Veen begin their title bid against Mothers Rajma.

Three-time world champion Van Gerwen will play Poland’s Krzysztof Ratajski, with Austria’s Mensur Suljovic awaiting third seed James Wade.

Patrik Kovacs will play fourth seed Josh Rock, while Dutch No. 3 Danny Knoppert will play Alan Sauter.

World Championship semi-finalist Ryan Searle faces Dutch opposition in the form of Kevin Deutz and former Masters champion Chris Dobe takes on Kim Huybrechts.

Wessel Nijmann, winner of six PDC Ranking titles in 2026, begins his latest challenge against German star Nico Springer.

Rob Cross will also be among the selected representatives in Graz and will begin his campaign against former world champion William O’Connor of Ireland.

After the conclusion of the second round, the last 16 stage returns on Sunday afternoon, before the tournament reaches its final stage with quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals in the evening session.
