Atletico Madrid have appeared to scoff at Barcelona’s attempts to sign their striker Julian Alvarez.
The club responded to social media posts about an impending Barcelona bid for Alvarez by mocking their own parody posts about Barcelona players.
Atletico, who insist Alvarez is not for sale and is worth as much as £130m, posted pictures of Barcelona stars Lamine Yamal, Pedri and Rafinha in the X in Atletico shirts.
The posts also included joke bids for each player, including concert tickets, an annual subscription and a bag of sunflower seeds for Yamal.

Alongside a picture of former Leeds winger Rafinha on their shirt, Atlético included the caption: “Don’t believe what you see, especially if it’s about Barca.”
The club also said they were “suffering from a smear campaign”.
