At least eight people have been killed in Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon, the latest violation of the “cease fire” agreement, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).
Israeli warplanes struck the village of Doueir on Wednesday, killing five people and injuring two others, NNA reported. Several buildings were destroyed in the attack, the agency said.

Another Israeli attack killed two people near a hospital in the village of Tibnin, while a motorcyclist was killed in a drone attack on the village of Burj Shemali in Tire district, NNA reported.
The Red Cross said they found the body of one person outside the town of Shebaa in Nabatieh district.
Israel’s offensive across Lebanon continues despite a United States-mediated “ceasefire” that was recently extended until early July.
The new Israeli attack came just 16 hours after at least 16 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon on Tuesday. The Ministry of Health said three women and three children were affected.
In addition, the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah said its forces clashed with Israeli forces trying to enter the center of the village of Haddatha last night.
The group also reported clashes with Israeli forces in the town of Biyyada and the town of Rashaf.
The Israeli army continues to expand its military campaign through the south of the country into the western Bekaa valley.
“For weeks, Israeli forces have been targeting many Shia Muslim villages in the western Bekaa Valley where Hezbollah has support,” Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr said. “He lies on the road that connects the frontline villages in the southeast of the country.”
Yousef Hasan, who left the town of Yuhmor, called Israel “an expanding country that kills women and children”.
“They don’t believe in borders. For them, the border is as far as the Israeli army can reach. It is a country that takes the place of others,” Hasan told Al Jazeera.
Since March 2, Israel has killed 3,073 people in Lebanon and wounded 9,362 others, and displaced more than 1.6 million people, about a fifth of the country’s population, according to Lebanese officials.
Israeli forces have also destroyed entire villages in southern Lebanon, drawing comparisons to the destruction caused by Israel’s war against the Palestinians in Gaza.
