At least 16 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes or taken from rubble in the past 48 hours in Gaza, according to health officials.
The Gaza Ministry of Health said on Saturday that the besieged hospitals received the bodies of 16 Palestinians, seven of whom were killed in the latest attack by Israeli forces, while nine were found under the rubble of destroyed buildings.

The ministry said 16 people were injured at the same time, adding that many victims were still under the rubble because ambulances and public security could not reach them.
The ministry did not specify the cause of death or injuries.
The latest killings come despite Israeli and Hamas concessions “prohibition of war” in the United States in October. Although major fighting had stopped, Israeli attacks on Palestine continued.
According to the ministry, Israeli military violations of the ceasefire have killed 1,066 people and injured 3,445 others since the ceasefire began.
The latest casualties bring the number of people killed in Israel’s war in Gaza since October 2023 to 73,090, with another 173,550 injured, the ministry added.
During the ceasefire, the Israeli army will continue to expand the controlled area inside Gaza while issuing an evacuation order.
In late May, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had ordered the military to act extend his authority up to 70 percent of the Gaza Strip.
Under the ceasefire agreement, the parties are expected to move to a second phase after Hamas frees the remaining prisoners affected by the first phase agreement in exchange for Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.
This phase was designed to include the shelling of Hamas and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
However, the talks have been stalled for months, with the deployment of weapons to Hamas and the scale of Israeli withdrawals continuing to be major obstacles.
