Aston Villa: Villa close to signing Joao Gomes for £38m

Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes is set to join Aston Villa in a deal worth £38m.

The Brazil international has left Wolves’ training camp in Portugal and will have a medical on Thursday.

The contract value is an initial £34m with a further £4m add on.

After joining from Flamengo in 2023, he played 130 times for the club, scoring seven goals.
