Arteta is superior to Slott and Guardiola…and powerless against Mourinho

The Spanish coach achieves a historic achievement in the English Premier League

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has achieved a remarkable historic achievement in the English Premier League after guiding his side to the title this season.

Arteta ended Arsenal’s 22-year absence from the podium since their last title in 2003-2004.

Not only did Arteta end Arsenal’s wait, he did so as one of the youngest managers to win the competition.

At just 44 years and 54 days old on Coronation Day (19 May 2026), Mikel Arteta became the second-youngest manager in history to win the English Premier League title, according to statistics from the Opta network.

Arteta managed to surpass the record of Arne Slott, who won the title with Liverpool last season at the age of 46 years and 222 days. He also surpassed Pep Guardiola, who won with Manchester City at the age of 47 years and 87 days.

The youngest manager to win the English Premier League is Jose Mourinho, who won the title with Chelsea in the 2004-2005 season when he was 42 years and 94 days old and then repeated the same the following year at the age of 43 years and 93 days, confirming his famous “exceptional” title.

On the other hand, Sir Alex Ferguson remains the oldest manager to win the title when he did so with Manchester United in 2013 at the age of 71 years and 112 days.
