Argentina regains its lethal weapon against Algeria

Argentina’s national team received a huge morale boost by regaining a lethal weapon in goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez ahead of their match against Algeria.

Argentina begin their World Cup title defense against Algeria at dawn next Wednesday.

Emiliano Martinez is considered one of the tango dancers’ most important weapons, alongside Lionel Messi, as his brilliance helped France win the 2022 World Cup.

The “Mundo Deportivo” newspaper, citing the TyC Sports network, reports that the medical staff of the Argentine national team conducted a medical examination for Martinez and decided to remove the ring finger of the right hand.

During the last training session, Emiliano Martinez was seen training with gloves and despite some initial discomfort, he was able to train normally.

Martinez suffered a fracture during the Europa League final between Aston Villa and Freiburg, but he finished the whole match and did not have to undergo surgery to miss the World Cup.
