An almost impossible task
“Real Madrid” is again knocking on the doors of “Paris Saint-Germain”, but this time the scene is completely different from the previous years. Although the conditions seem calmer and more favorable than before, however, the chances of the Spanish club getting one of the stars of the Paris team are still very limited.
It’s true that the tension and conflict that characterized the relationship between Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi have become a thing of the past, but that hasn’t changed much in the French club’s policy of abandoning the most prominent pillars of its sporting project.
In this context, Florentino Perez did not directly confirm whether he was referring to the Portuguese Vitinha or his compatriot Joao Neves during his last statements to the “Cuatro” TV channel, as he avoided mentioning the names clearly, “Marca” newspaper writes.
However, both players are classified as untouchables in the project of coach Luis Enrique, who currently has a lot of influence within the club, agreeing with sports consultant Luis Campos and the rest of the management.

Vitignan and Joao Neves are two of the main pillars of Paris Saint-Germain, which makes the idea of either of them leaving almost impossible at the moment. The only possible scenario remains the desire of one of the players to leave the club, especially since Luis Enrique puts the player’s complete belief in the sports project at the top of his priorities.
The Spanish coach believes that the success of any project starts with the players being convinced of their presence at the club, a principle he also applies when signing new deals. For this reason, PSG does not enter into negotiations with players who do not express a complete desire to join the team, as was previously the case with Argentine forward Julian Alvarez.
In recent years, Paris Saint-Germain’s status on the European scene has witnessed a radical transformation. After cementing its image of competing and winning titles in a well-defined sporting project, it has become one of the most attractive destinations for players, and the scenarios the club witnessed in the past when some stars tried to force them to leave are no longer happening.

There is no indication in the corridors of the Paris club that Vitinha or Joao Neves want to leave. Conversely, Vitinia recently extended his contract with the club, a contract that does not contain a clause that allows him to terminate it unilaterally, making the rumors of a penalty clause or a release clause false.
In such cases, players’ agents sometimes manage to convince clubs to consider large offers that reach their clients, and if those offers are rejected, the player is often rewarded with a contract extension or salary increase in recognition of his commitment and continuity with the team.
At Paris Saint-Germain, Vitinia is seen as the mastermind and rhythm-maker in midfield, while Joao Neves represents the team’s dynamic engine thanks to his high activity and ability to connect the lines.
Neves joined Paris Saint-Germain two seasons ago from Benfica in a deal worth around €60 million, plus €10 million in variables, and needed just one season to prove his status as one of the team’s most important players.
As for Vitinha, he has been linked with renowned agent Jorge Mendes, who recently managed to rekindle his relationship with Real Madrid after years of apathy. However, the improvement in that relationship is not enough to convince Paris Saint-Germain to part with one of their most famous stars.

The relationship between Florentino Perez and Nasser Al-Khelaifi has seen a marked improvement of late, especially since the understandings between Real Madrid and the European Football Association (UEFA).
It is enough to recall the praise that Al-Khelaifi gave to the president of the Royal Club during one of the UEFA meetings in Brussels, when he praised his position on the new system of the Champions League and his withdrawal from the European Super League project.
The two presidents also recently met on the sidelines of the Champions League final, in a friendly and positive atmosphere that reflects the obvious improvement in relations between the two sides, Marca newspaper reports.
However, the warmth of the relationship is not necessarily reflected in the transfer market. Qatar’s position at Paris Saint-Germain is still tight when it comes to selling big stars, and many past deals have proven the club are not complacent in this regard, making Paris Saint-Germain a real obstacle to any new attempts by Real to include one of the pillars of the Paris project.
