Spanish media say Dani Ceballos’ days at Real Madrid are numbered after a row between him and manager Alvaro Arbeloa escalated, resulting in him being left out of the squad for three consecutive matches, the last of which was the El Clasico against Barcelona.
According to the website Studio Deportivo, the crisis started last April against Real Betis at the La Cartujah stadium, when the technical staff decided not to rely on the Andalusian player.
After that, a sharp dispute arose between the two parties, which ended in an almost complete breakdown of their relations.
Internal disputes and increased tension
Reports claim that Ceballos was left disappointed after learning that his manager had not spoken positively about him to representatives of one of the clubs interested in signing him next summer.
Although his contract runs until June 30, 2027, the player seems determined to force his way out of the Royals this time.
There is also an opinion that Ceballos did not accept the decline of his role in the team, especially after Arbeloa chose to rely on Thiago Petarch in his position. His last appearance for Real Madrid came against Osasuna on February 21st, fueling speculation that his career at the club is over.
Arbeloa attacks the leak
The atmosphere in the dressing room has been tense since the recent spat between Federico Valverde and Aurelien Choumini, which led Arbeloa to express his displeasure at the leaking of details within the squad.
“If something happens in the dressing room, it is a betrayal of Real Madrid. It makes me very sad. I don’t blame anyone, but I stress that private conversations should remain between the players and myself.
Although he has no conclusive evidence, sources close to the club say Arbeloa suspects Ceballos was among those who leaked details of internal disputes outside the club’s walls, increasing tensions between the two sides.
