Siri is getting more AI features powered by the latest version of Apple Intelligence, which Apple worked with Google to create. Apple is calling for an advanced voice assistant Siri AI, offering the ability to have detailed conversations “with detailed and engaging responses,” Apple AI chief Mike Rockwell said at the event.

In addition to providing editing and writing tools, Siri AI also uses computer recognition to pull content from your page to answer questions. Apple is also introducing a standalone Siri AI app, where you can access your conversation history. Siri AI will power Apple devices, including the iPhone, iPadApple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.

Apple is increasing access to its new Siri AI by diving from Dynamic Island, where its responses will also appear. iOS 27 comes with “Siri Mode” in its Camera app, which can recognize things you’re looking at and tell you more about them.

There is also a new opacity control for Apple’s polarizing Liquid Glass design. Apple says iOS 27 will be supported by iPhone 11 and up.

Apple is bringing AI improvements to macOS 27 Golden Gate, too. It’s building Siri into its Spotlight menu, allowing you to ask questions directly while searching and selecting files to query.

Similar to iOS 27, the latest version of macOS lets you customize the design of Liquid Glass with a new slider. Apple is making corner windows tighter in macOS 27 and is bringing back sidebar icons.

At the keynote, Apple showed off a number of new features for Safari, including a new tab management feature that will use AI to organize all of your open web pages into a theme.

There’s a new “Notify Me” feature that lets you ask Safari to alert you about changes to a page — like when something you’ve been looking at comes back — and a way for Safari to reset passwords you’ve messed up. You can also ask Safari to create extensions by simply specifying them in natural language.

Apple Intelligence is changing all apps

New features in Messages show photos you can share based on conversations, while the Phone app can provide information, such as a flight confirmation number, when a call starts. Apple also says that Mail will provide “excellent suggestions” and let you add events to your Calendar just by specifying them. Other changes include the ability to create your own shortcuts with natural language and use Apple’s Image Playground to make AI changes to your photos, such as changing their music and removing “distractions”.

Apple is making major changes to its parental control system. Now, parents who enroll their child in a child account can choose the apps and content they want to access, and require their child to ask for permission before opening a new website. The company also revamped its Screen Time menu, which it says will allow parents to control how much time their kids spend on their phones.
