The Spanish team will meet the Argentinian for a new award
The winner of the 2026 World Cup between America, Canada and Mexico will receive an exclusive prize that has never been presented in the history of the tournament, American style.
The Spanish national team will meet with its Argentinian counterpart next SundayAt the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, in the final game of the World Cup.
He said press reports were quoted Sky Sports The International Football Federation (FIFA) has decided to award a new exclusive award to the winner of the World Cup, in addition to the trophy and gold medals.
The award consists of souvenirs that will be purchased by the members of the winning team, with one side depicting a model of the World Cup and the other side dedicated to displaying the champion’s identity, each with a unique number.
FIFA will make available 2026 rings of this type commemorating the year of the current World Cup, 30 of which will be allocated to the champion team and the remaining pieces (1996) will be sold worldwide.
The technical director of the winning team, as well as the captain, will temporarily receive these thirty rings immediately after the match, before their sizes are further adjusted to match the players who receive them.
These exclusive awards come as a way of keeping in line with American sports culture, which dictates that the winning team receives rings instead of medals, as is the case in the NBA and the Super Bowl.
