Anthropic $1.5B copyright settlement approved; only 350 writers came out

Monday, the judge to be approved A $1.5 billion settlement between Anthropic and the authors, ended The largest piece of copyright ever secured and giving The largest copyright settlement ever reached.

Back in May, some writers fought to stop the settlementwhich was issued after a court ruled that Anthropic AI’s textbooks were fair use; however, his fraudulent activities were not.

Writers opposing the decision argued that lawyers’ salaries were too high and writers’ salaries were too low. Hoping to avoid accepting the $3,000-per-work fine and filing separate lawsuits to seek greater damages, a few writers tried to stay out of the deadline.
