Anthony Joshua is on course for a fight with British heavyweight rival Tyson Fury later this year after knocking out Christian Prenga in 20 seconds to secure a second-round knockout in a wild clash in Jeddah.

Fearing a fifth pro defeat for Joshua, following two losses to Oleksandr Usyk – the same as Fury – and one each to Daniel Dubois and Andy Ruiz, his push against Prenga was strong early on but his heavy hitting in the second round gave him victory.
Regarding Fury, Joshua added: “I’m going to rip his heart out. I’m the meanest and meanest champion ever!
“All jokes aside, I respect everything he’s done and achieved but here we are now. I hope the fans get a nice treat.”

Joshua also reserved praise for Prenga, saying: “He’s a strong guy and I think Eddie (Hearn) wants to sign him now!
“He’s going to do well and has a bright future. Maybe with a little more experience, he’ll be right up there with the rest of us.
“He’s strong and durable and gave me a good test but that’s what champions do, we get up. We get knocked down and get back up. That’s life.”
