Another 4.8 magnitude earthquake has struck near Venezuela | Story


Another powerful earthquake has been detected off the coast of Venezuela.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said an earthquake of 4.8 magnitude was detected at 3:20pm in the region (19:20 GMT) near the north of Aragua in Venezuela.

There have been reports of several aftershocks and aftershocks after Venezuela was hit by 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes on Wednesday.

Rescuers were still running to rescue survivors of the earthquake, and at least 1,430 people were confirmed dead.

Another 51,000 are reported missing.

The most recent earthquake was 70km (43.4 miles) west of Venezuela’s capital, Caracas.
