Ann Widdecombe was interviewed 20 minutes before the attack

Politician Ann Widdecombe gave a pre-recorded radio interview about 20 minutes before police believed she had been assaulted on Wednesday 8 July.

Widdecombe, 78, was found dead at her home in Devon on Thursday after suffering serious injuries.

The former Conservative minister spoke to British Christian radio station TWR-UK, a spokesman for Reform UK, for nine minutes via video link, but the interview was not broadcast.

The station later shared a portion of the footage with Times Radio, which aired the interview for the first time on Tuesday.

In the interview, she spoke about her support for Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.
