An Israeli airstrike has killed two senior Hamas security officials including Colonel Wael Musa al-Ladawi, the former head of the internal security group in central Gaza, according to the interior ministry.
Al-Ladawi was killed along with Ramez Tawfiq Abu Zureiq on Sunday when a car they were traveling in was shot down in the city of Deir al-Balah. Pictures taken by the Shehab News Agency show a car on fire in the middle of the road, with clouds of black smoke covering the view.

The bodies of the two men were taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.
On Saturday, a senior Hamas police officer in northern Gaza was killed in an Israeli attack. Israel also claimed to be a member of the militant group Hamas.
Hamas said the killings were part of Israel’s way of sowing chaos in Gaza by destroying all government institutions, making it impossible to control the area.
Since the ceasefire began on October 10, Israel has continued to engage in almost daily attacks, rendering the agreement ineffective. Peace talks have also stalled, with the Board of Peace, which was established by the President of the United States Donald Trump, to achieve whatever he wants.
Earlier this week, Hamas elected a new leader, Khalil al-Hayya, nearly two years after Yahya Sinwar was killed by Israeli forces in Gaza.
