An explosion has occurred inside a cafe in the Syrian capital, Damascus, according to state media.

An explosion occurred in the Hejaz region of Damascus on Thursday, the SANA news agency reported.

Injuries were reported.

State-run Al-Ikhbariya television reported that the nature of the explosion was not immediately known.
