Amanda Serrano will look to defend her unified title and break the record for most knockouts in women’s boxing history when she meets Lucrecia Manzur next month.
The 37-year-old Serrano will face the 27-year-old Manzoor on August 21 at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, with the unified WBA and WBO world featherweight titles on the line.
The Puerto Rican tied the record in May Most Knockouts in Women’s Boxing History (32) Including a second-round stoppage of Cheyenne Hanson in Texas.
Her fight with Argentina’s Manzoor will be the first unified women’s world title fight to be contested over 12 two-minute rounds and the first championship boxing event to be broadcast on TikTok Live.
Serrano, who holds the WBO, WBA and Ring Magazine titles, is Puerto Rico’s first undisputed world champion and the most decorated fighter in women’s boxing history.
“I’ve dedicated my career to creating opportunities for women’s boxing and bringing our sport to the biggest stage possible, so it’s incredibly meaningful to headline the first championship boxing event on TikTok,” said Serrano.
“Women’s boxing deserves to be seen by as many people as possible around the world, and this partnership gives us the opportunity to introduce the sport to a huge global audience in a whole new way.”
Serrano’s career record is 49-4-1, with 32 knockouts, while Manzoor is 14-4 with seven knockouts.
“Ever since I started boxing, I’ve dreamed of fighting for a world title, and now I have the opportunity to do it against one of the true icons of the sport and someone I’ve always admired, Amanda Serrano,” Manzoor said.
“I have tremendous respect for everything Amanda has accomplished and the legacy she’s built. But once we step in the ring, my focus is on winning.”
Also on the card is US Olympian Jahmal Harvey in a six-round lightweight bout against Mexico’s Hammet Cabe at 135 pounds.
