The England team could not score against Ghana
England extended their World Cup record to 13 goalless matches in the tournament’s history, the highest of any team, as they drew 0-0 with Ghana in the second round of the 2026 World Cup 2026 group stage yesterday, Tuesday.

The first of these matches was against Brazil in 1958, before the same negative result was repeated against Bulgaria in 1962. in the World Cup, and then against Uruguay in 1966. during the tournament, according to Opta Statistics Network.
In 1982, England recorded two goalless draws, the first against West Germany and the second against Spain, before being held to a goalless draw against Morocco in the 1986 World Cup.

England’s encounter with the Netherlands at the 1990 World Cup also ended goalless, before the result was repeated against Nigeria in 2002 and then against Portugal at the 2006 World Cup.
The 2010 edition witnessed a goalless draw between England and Algeria, while the 2014 World Cup clash with Costa Rica ended in the same result.
England bounced back from a goalless draw against the USA at the 2022 World Cup before adding a game against Ghana to the list for the 2026 edition.
