Alice and Steve
It’s a comedy starring Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement as famous middle-aged best friends. Their relationship is strained when Steve accidentally falls for Alice’s 26-year-old daughter Izzy (Yali Topol Margalith). Alice and Steve (created by Sex Education writer Sophie Goodhart) rightly don’t shy away from messing with the whole situation and instead lean into it with great gusto. Alice’s anger leads to bad behavior on both sides – there’s a new contestant at the funniest TV dinner party of all time. But the story is silly and kind, too. And the players, Walker in particular, are respectable. Phil Harrison

Rob Rinder: A Crime I’ll Never Forget
In 2005, in his former life as a barrister, Rob Rinder was part of the legal team defending one of the men accused of brutally murdering 22-year-old Lucy Hargreaves in Liverpool. The men were released and Rinder is still convinced that the decision was the right one. However, as these stories show, that does not mean that he has forgotten the case. Along with Rinder himself, we hear from the court reporters who covered the case and changed the gang, as well as people who knew Lucy. An interesting insight into the risk that is taken with the right approach.

Some of his choices – Big Ben in London or a Michelin-starred kitchen in Paris, for example – aren’t exactly revolutionary but he’s committed to wherever he goes and his bouncy enthusiasm goes a long way.

After a tense period, the undercover and popular children’s educational program is now launching events in its new home on Netflix. In this latest election, the terrorist group is very ambitious – a trip to space is also on the agenda. The mission soon runs into trouble, and a successful mid-air mission is planned. As always, Sesame Street is sweet without being sick and righteous without being preachy. His comeback is one of the most exciting news stories on TV today.

Carley Fortune’s mini-book Every Summer Later has been a hit on BookTok. So it was inevitable that it would appear on the small screen. It can be attractive to fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty and follows the wish-they-won’t-they relationship between Persephone “Percy” Fraser (Sadie Soverall) and Sam Florek (Matt Cornett) as it rides and travels for six years of summer vacation in Barry’s Bay in Canada. Expect youthful romances that capture each other’s hearts effortlessly.

The drama has attracted a lot of attention in Poland because it shows a gay man struggling with the problems of fatherhood. Ignacy Liss stars as Filip, a successful artist who has shunned the responsibility of adulthood in favor of common sense and emotional distance. However, when a family tragedy strikes, he encounters the familiar problem of his infant niece Antonina and finds himself surprised by her personality. It’s well made and executed, and a reminder that even if the issue of LGBTQ+ adoption has been resolved in the UK, in many countries the issue continues.

The Idaho Student Murders
Moscow, Idaho, is a quiet place so the murder of four students in a shared apartment in 2022 was very shocking. The quartets were stabbed and the attack was so brutal that blood flowed from the foundation of the building. Soon, another student, Bryan Kohberger, became suspicious. The plan also reviews the case against him, including a history of behavior toward women. He also remembers the victims, speaking with friends and family of Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin and Xana Kernodle.
