The Warriors took down the Netherlands at home
Today, Wednesday, in a friendly match at the Feyenoord Stadium, the Algerian national team achieved a historic achievement with a valuable 1-0 victory over the Dutch.
With this victory, Algeria became the third African team in history to win the Mills, joining both Egypt, who beat the Netherlands (1-2) on June 14, 1928, and Morocco, who won with the same result on April 28, 1999.
Egypt and Morocco won two friendlies against the Netherlands, similar to Algeria’s win.
After the Morocco-Senegal final, FIFA approved refereeing changes for the 2026 World Cup.
On the other hand, the Netherlands lost for the first time since their loss against Germany on October 14, 2024, ending a streak of 14 consecutive matches without a defeat, according to French network Stats Foot.
The Dutch Windmills are preparing to play in Group 6 for the 2026 World Cup, which also includes Tunisia, Japan and Sweden.
