Alan Carr to keep the unsold castle auction – concrete cow

In the year They were created in the 1960s by a retired member to entertain his disabled son, but have grown into a large collection and become “a much-loved visitor attraction”.

In the year It was sold and moved to Ayton Castle in 2021, but the pieces have now been auctioned off to the highest bidder – apart from the cow that Carr is set to keep.

Jim Railton of Railtons Auctioneers said it was a “very busy day”.

“We’ve had seven-and-a-half hours of non-stop sales and only one item that didn’t sell, which is a pretty good record,” he said.
